Hey Daniel,
That is one beautiful wood mantel. Did it come with the house or did you have it made? Roland..........

Let's not talk about heatloss in this pic =)
  • Ahhhh!

Ya know for what its worth I got 4 masonary fireplaces. While they are not that efficient, theres nothing like a roaring fire with real wood, and real stone!!

    Nice wall hangers, but..........

.........where's the humidifier for those guitars?

    Hi Daniel,
Nice comfy shot that says it all! I have instruments hanging in my atrium where we have a wood stove for the sole heating source, but it's humidified 24/7 when the fire's going.

This is one of the oldies that's hanging on the wall:

It's an old Oscar Schmidt Sovereign from the 1920's.

    Hi Daniel,
So you're saying that in that sort of steam system (1 pipe)there's enough moisture released from the vents (I'm assuming here)to negate the drying effect of the heat?

    Nice thing to have!

I have to keep my music room at around 45% to make sure the instruments don't crack at some point. Most manufacturers build in a controlled environment of 47% rh.

Of course the problem with that amount of humidity is that it's unhealthy for the house in many cases....

I could keep the guitars in cases with sponges, but then what would I hang on the wall to look at;-)

Previous owners had it made. There was a very plain jane mantel before this one according to them. When they refinished the living room I guess the other one didn't match up.
