The local authorities before you do this as you may be setting yourself up for potential liability. Many states require double walled heat exchangers and/or food grade anti-freeze on your side of the hx.

hot water spring to heat baseboard heaters
I am installing baseboard heaters that will be ran off of hot springs water. (using a 1" roll of copper tubing as a heat exchanger) Distance from springs is about 300 ft. My worrie is that if I don't have a high enough water temp once it gets to the baseboards I will have to boost it up. What are my best options?0 -
Insulation.
oversize with by-pass to the remote station,so that the warmest available water will be available right at the remote station.0 -
Start with a heat-loss calculation
then size your baseboard to deliver the amount of heat called for at the water temperature you will have.
This may mean using high-capacity baseboard.
Congratulations on heating your house without burning any fuel whatsoever!

water quality
might be wise to test the hot spring water to see if it will be aggressive with copper. Might keep from polluting the hot spring water flow.0 -
Dave is right
One thing about raw geothermal heat is the mineral content. Iceland uses geothermal hot water widely- I have not studied what they do to clean their heat exchangers (I can only imagine they use the water indirectly or treat it in some way rather than coat their radiation internally).
Great idea if you are aware of the pitfalls."If you do not know the answer, say, "I do not know the answer", and you will be correct!"

Chean Hot Springs Resort ....
Here in the central interior, has a niffty Ice Palace/ hotel,
it has quite a few log cabins and various buildings scattered about that use geothermal off the Hot Springs.
The owner just got an Award from some Energy group for the efforts over the years to make the resort as fuel efficient as possible.
