pipe size & edr

I am assuming this is one-pipe steam?

Is the EDR SF served by each 2-inch main roughly equal? Does either one exceed the 386 number by much if at all?

I do not see a problem.

The header from which the 2-inch lines emanate should be larger than 2-inch. I would expect that to be at least 2-1/2" if not 3-inch size.

Not sure I grasp the issues you are concerned with, otherwise.

limitation of the main in a one pipe steam system

I am replacing my boiler and I have read in Dan's book that a 2" main's maximum capacity is 386 sq-ft of steam.
I need based on the radiator load 540 sq-ft. I have (2)mains coming from the header. Is the math 2 x 386 and therefore that is why my system can handle the 540 because each main will only have 270 sq-ft of steam in each main.
It makes sense to me! how about you all?
