the exp is in the boiler for the heating side. On this particilar job it will be enough, but there are jobs when the exp. tank that comes with the unit is not enough and a small tank needs to be added. Definately a time and $$$ saver when it's enough tank.

The exp. tank is on the domestic side of the system, it's a code req. due to the use of check valves on the building water supply.

Nice looking job!
will you be getting feedback from the owner at the end of the season? We'd be interested to know how well and efficiently it runs.

Thanks Steamhead.
Yes I'll definately stay in contact with the H.O. The best ones are when your replacing an existing boiler with a condenser, Then they REALLY see the savings.

The expansion tank is pre-charged at 11.6 psi and is good for about a 30 gal heating system. I had one of these hooked up in my old house. I had four zones of radiant. Two zones were 136 degree staple up and two zones were 110 dregree slab raidiant. I used the Q control that comes with the boiler to its full capicity. From two temperature sytem to the Legionalla function. In Maine I was spending about $90.00 a month for heat and hot water. O' by the way I had a gas cook stove and a gas log for suppliment heat.0 -
