water flow control valve

IF your plumber has never seen something like your system before, how does he know you need the valves. Sounds like someone is guessing instead of just admitting he doesn't know. Find a contractor who has experience with your type of system. Gravity was very popular at one time and there are quite a few of them still around. Be careful about converting the existing system to forced. It will change the way it heats the house and you may not be happy with the results. Adding radiators to an existing gravity system isn't easy and needs to be done by an experienced heating pro.

    flow control valve

are flow control valves necessary? a plumber says my system works on gravity and has no pump. i have two sets of flow and return pipes, one set for each side of the house. he said he hd never seen this before. i want to add two radiators, but he said i need this valve or the radiators may not get enough water. then he said i could use a dual valve?

it must be a really old system, i say that because not many gravity ones are left in my area.
    Ever thought of upgrading?
