drill and tap and plug the hole with a plug. J& B works sometimes but generally flakes off over time.

steam radiator
Is is possible to seal a hole in a steam radiator? And if so how and with what.0 -
Try JB Weld. The area to be patched MUST be perfectly clean. Remove ALL paint/rust/etc. mechanically and/or chemically and then clean with a solvent like Naptha (aka "lighter fluid").0 -
And...
Let the JB Weld cure for as long as you possibly can before filling.0 -
If it is leaking at a joint
where the push nipples connect the sections together, I have sealed two radiators by rubbing salt into the sections where the leak was, it stopped both times. One of the radiators was forced hot water with 12 lbs. pressure.
thanks, Bob Gagnon

Salt
I've used the salt trick on galvanized pipe for domestic supply (from the 1920's)on seeping type leaks. Just soaked a towel in salt water and wrapped around the leak. Re-wet a couple of times. Good temporary solution.0 -
The forced hot water radiator
held water for years, but that was only about 12 psi. It was still holding when the lady sold the bldg. Bob Gagnon
