... but credit where credit is due: My Amtrol pressure pump decided to imitate a public fountain when the adapter nut on the pump bell housing decided to crack. Two fine mists emerged and slowly put the utility room under water.
Luckily, I caught it all before any permanent damage occurred. My guess is that a over-zealous application of elbow-grease, teflon-tape, etc. during the install of the pressure indicator into the adapter nut eventually caused the nut to crack. I called Amtrol to figure out if the nut had a special part number so that I could find or order one.
Surprisingly, I was talking to a human almost instantly (rare these days - it's sad that we expect worse). Secondly, the technician I was connected to not only sent me a new adapter nut in the mail, but he also did it for free.
So, a tip of the hat to Amtrol for a pleasant, quick, and effective customer experience. Three days later I had the new adapter nut in place and the pump was back online.
