Dodged a bullet today... well, my customer did anyways!

My recently-ex-Amish friend parked his travel trailer inside his new shop for the winter. Only part of the shop is heated, the rest is insulated, but not heated.

The electrician talked him into just using the travel trailer furnace to heat his trailer. Of course it will vent into an enclosed space but there "should" be enough ventilation to take care of it. (according to the electrician)

I said NO! I normally present the options, provide guidance if needed, and let the customer choose. Not this time. I was blunt.

Dadgummit... what's an ELECTRICIAN trying to advise on gas venting safety for anyways? Good grief! I don't try to tell the homeowner what size wire to run for each circuit, why should the electrician try to kill my customer for me? Grrrrr! (OK, so that wasn't his point. but you get my point.)

Anyways, we are using a homemade fan coil unit with 12" flex duct. One drop to the rooftop vent and the return drop to the other rooftop vent. May not be perfect but it should work.

Will post pics when I do the project.
