I want to get some opinions on installing Taco or Conbraco Flo-check valve or should I just use standard check valves. This will be to prevent heat transfer to other zones on a four zone hydronic heat system that is zoned with pumps. I had planned on installing the checks right after the pumps and I have Gruvlok circuit balancing valves for the return side.
    thanks

You need a minimum of 12 pipe diameters up stream of the pump prior to the swing check to not have chatter with swing checks, and they must be horizontal. I like spring checks, which can be installed horizontal or vertical but it also needs the 12 pipe diameters prior to the valve or 90* elbo.

the 12 diameters rule is to dissipate incoming turbulence and eliminate chatter & rattle. Use internal flow check circulators like the grundfos 15-58 FC for protection on the supply, and 'underslung' returns to protect the return without the need for separate check valves. Underslung returns must be at least 18" deep. works like magic....oooh, aaah...

    check valves

why not save some time and just install taco IFC pumps, these pumps have the check valve built into it and it's easy to install, just take out your existing pump and slide in the new one, bleed and wire and walla done. just a suggestion.

I agree; the Taco circulators with IFC will facilitate piping, save time, and money.

Unfortunatly I have two new 007 pumps with out the IFC's. I need to purchase a third for that one I could get it with the IFC. The other two circuit I think I will use the Taco Flo-Checks or the Conbraco's
