for those who haven't seen it yet. The 0-16 ounce model with SPDT switching is the L408J1009. Here's the link:

Thanks, Steamhead-
I knew you would find it. Now, if you do try one out, can you let us know how well it works, how responsive? Could well be more accurate and less sensitive to siphon tube tipping, not that we should change good practices or anything..."If you do not know the answer, say, "I do not know the answer", and you will be correct!"

Any update?
Just wondering if anyone has had enough time with one of these new vaporstats to give us a review?0 -
Just installed one today
let you know how it holds up. But it controlled the burner on a Webster Type R Vapor system flawlessly when we fired it up.

Replace Pressuretrol?
Is it cost effective/efficient to replace a working pressuretrol on Mom's small 49 year old Utica Starfire with this new Vaporstat? System works well with new radiator vents. In other words, would she save fuel?0 -
$$$ ?
Frank, about a buck 'n a quarter our cost?0 -

what i want to know is why
the old black honeywell vaporstats from 30's were nuts on with their calabration, and the modern ones, all the modern ones are way off on their calibration compared to the scale..bring me back the old black ones anyday..

New Vaporstats
I just saw some specifications on the new thermostats and it has a temperature range of -25 to 150 degrees. Will this be affected in any way by steam? Thanks, Brian0 -
Not
as long as you install it on a pigtail. BTW, Vaporstats do come with pigtails, unfortunately they are steel ones. These tend to rust up so we use brass ones instead, and send the steel ones to China as scrap.

Supplier stocked up on
mercury switched vaporstats before they were discontinued. He's now out & so am I. He was a Honeywell Rep. for 20 years. He's not real enthusiastic about the new piece. Hope he's wrong. But. His track record is real good.
