Indirect Tank antiscald valve problem?
I'm using an Amtrol indirect tank with an anti-scald mixing valve set for 120 degrees. Today I noticed something weird! When the shower is being used the hot water from the valve appears to be flowing back through the anti-scald valve towards the cold water port on the DHW tank. I believe the shower control has an anti-scald valve built in. Cold water for the shower and the anti-scald valve come from different pipes. The faucets in the house appear to draw cold water through the anti-scald valve to temper the temperature. Do I need to install a check valve or two to stop this backflow? I'm having trouble visualizing why it happens.0 -
figured it out.. never mind...
Never mind.. Need a check valve on the cold water inlet port on the anti-scald mixing valve.
