That refers to using a seperate intake and outtake. Not using the concentric flue kit. You can actually use combustion air from inside the boiler room and in that case the exhaust must be four feet away.

Does that help ?

    GB 142 vent termination

I'm having trouble figuring out the vent termination requirments on the GB 142. I would like to vent it as in Fig. 15 and Fig. 23 of the installation manual to where I need to be only 12" from doors or windows. But in Fig. 16 it shows the termination needs to be 4' from doors and windows. I'm confused, what's the different?

    Thanks Scott!!

Scott is correct, fig. 16 is for when using "room" air. In a sealed combustion application (fresh air being taken from outside) the clearance is one foot.

    another question

So if you use the concentric vent out the wall, the 4 foot rule applies?

    if you use

the concentric kit and are pulling combustion air from the outside then the 9" and 12" rules apply.
