Kero vs. Heating oil

I purchase my oil cod. Kerosene is running about 10 cents more per gallon. Any benefits to using kerosene over home heating oil.

It depends
It depends, do you have an outside tank? In colder weather kero is better for outdoor tanks.
If your tank is in the basement then there is no benefit to use kero over #2. Kero has a little less btu value per gallon.0 -
I agree with Bill
I agree with what Bill said and I will add, if it is an outside tank the extra cost of Kero will save you in the long run. The cost of a service call to thaw out the gelled tank far out weighs the extra cost of Kero. Not to mention the aggravation of a cold house.

in addition..
long term use of k1 can wear out your oil pump because it has less lubrication qualities....kpc
