Any Idea's where I can find rebates for a new oil fired boiler.
I checked ny.gov but cant find anything on rebates.

I am in New York > Long Island

I tried looking for oil boiler rebates...without luck. Many programs that I found require AFUEs at 95% or greater which wipes out about 99% of the boilers on the market.

From what I was told, the gas company monopolies take a small surcharge and put that into a fund used for "rebates" and "free equipment". These rebates are only available to customers of the gas company (and not customers of the equipment company).

Independent oil companies are not organized like the gas companies and hence the lack of rebates and promotions.

Try contacting your State and Local govermnents. Mass, for example, is offering a 7 yr, 3% loan if your equipment is energystar rated. They require a free, energy home assessment to qualify. Low income households get the loan for 0%.

Due to veto by Gov. Spitzer,the $500 NYS tax credit is dead.Unfortunately there's not much else available.EK is the most efficient oil boiler available,Viessmann,Buderus and Biasi are very good as well.Slant/Fin has a Dedetrich made boiler that looks to be very nice as well although I haven't done one yet.
