HOT WATER BOILERS ARE NOT SIZED TO THE RADIATION...YOU NEED A HEATLOSS CALC TO SIZE A HOT WATER BOILER TO THE HOUSE!!!
Just a guy running some pipes.

how does it work?
Will this help solve the problem?
Does it normally take an hour for the primary water temp to come up to 160degrees. I have a large volume of water( 120,000 btu of radiators) and 100' ++ of 2"iron pipe. A longer run cycle is a good thing correct? It should in effect satisfy the t-stat on a milder day without reaching a higher temperature??? And when the out temp requires peak load a longer run cycle should raise my water temp enough to satisfy those peak loads?? Am I correct here? The water in my only common piping seeemed to be neutral( circ on the secondary side robbed nearly all of primary water. Upon start up secondary return temp was around 75f and supply 90f. After an hour secondary return 137f and supply 160f. Is this normal? Note: Yes the stat was jumped out. Boiler is sized exactly for the radiation.0 -

First of all if you are speaking of a M/C boiler the cooler the return water, the better, as they are made to condense. CI boilers are a different story, every CI boiler condenses a little on "start-up", but not built for constant condensation. (Longer than 5 Min. or so), if your boiler is CI, a thermic valve would most certainly help. Look here ESBE TV

3/4 t
I'm gonna go into my basement and play with it for 5-10 minutes. The system is cold again now. We did install a 3/4" direct bypass for temporary use.... just to tinker. Semmed to help but it was already running awhile..0 -
Your primary loop has a relatively small volume of water which should heat quickly. Read my post on your other thread, which is where this post should be.....you want a TV on a copper fin boiler...Just a guy running some pipes.0
