What's the dif?

Can the bronze cartridge circ be used in non-barrier applications?

Bronze cartridge 00 circs have non-ferrous internal moving parts with a cast iron casing which can quickly load up with rust in non-barrieir tubing systems. We recommend all-bronze circs with non-barrier tubing.

So what is the point of the bronze cartridge circs?

It helps to slow down the rusting process on the rotor in open atmospheric heating systems, like outdoor wood boilers. It's also a good idea for non-barrier radiant systems,drain-back solar jobs, factory wet testing by boiler OEM's or any non-potable application that is open, unpressurized and prone to air in solution.
The best choice for these applications is an all-bronze circ but a lower cost alternative is an iron pump with a bronze cartridge to keep the moving parts rust free.
