Parents house , here on Long Island only has propane for fuel choice. Nat Gas not hooked to the house; might be in the street tho.
House is typical Cape style, 1000sq ft first floor. Maybe another 500 on 1/2 story above.
Boiler is I *think* a Hydrotherm. Approx 40 years old, could be more but not much less. DHW is made via a propane water heater, 4 or 5 years old.
Heat emitters are basic fintube baseboard, each room is basically covered on every exterior wall.
I'll do a heatloss, already have the Slant Fin software.
Mom wants a new higher efficient boiler.
Any recommendations for propane w/fintube?

Mod/Con
With propane, a mod/con looks pretty good, particularly since it sounds like there is quite a bit of emitter.0 -
Mod/Cons
It depends on exactly what you are looking for. my favorites are:
Vitodens 200 - Best available.
Vitodens 100 - High quality and simple.
Triangle Tube Prestige - Excellent value in a stainless steel mod/con.0
