I'll bet the owner will also be happy with his savings!! Incredible job per the norm Ron. Your work is incredible and it is incredible that you do this each and every day on each and every job!! Just don't get to used to all that space. It would ruin your image..:)

  • This job was in Smithtown , L.I.

Cellar entrance and 2 steps down into a wide open unfinished basement . This never happens for us ........
Big old clunker , I forget if it's an AO Smith or an American Standard . Either way , it'll be melted down and come back as a boat anchor . There was an aquabooster hooked into the coil too - couldn't be used with the new system .
  • MPO and indirect

3 zones total . The 2nd pic is the damaged jacket . Being as gentle as we could and using a power handtruck , the sides of the jacket still get ripped out . Burnham guys , we gotta find a way to beef up the jacket . I really don't want to take it apart every time to maneuver the boiler , even if it'll go dowstairs smooth .

Other than that , the homeowner was shocked at the size and how quiet it ran .

    As usual!

Another beautiful job! I like the cleanout idea. Don't tell me this was a 1 day'er!

  • I messed up a little

on the cleanout . I thought we'd have more room between it and the expansion tank and header . Oh well , we'll call that a glorified inspection port .

Yep , this was a one dayer . Phil , Paul and myself . And to top it off we carried out the old fridge for the homeowner too - after Paul took the doors off . We couldn't resist , she was such a nice lady . The first customer in many days to offer us a drink and lunch while we worked .

    Thanks alot Robert .

There was an error rendering this rich post.

  • Even with all the space

we still box ourselves in with the tools , parts , buckets , cartons of crap ..... I think this'll be another big usage drop for our customer . We're trying to put that old urban legend to bed - that we want our customers using the oldest , dirtiest and most inefficient equpment out there .... so they burn more oil .

Thank you for the compliment lchmb .
  • Yeah it does look like an Alliance

The newer version of it .

    But it ain't :)

"we still box ourselves in with the tools , parts , buckets , cartons of crap......."

Try working with Cook for a day!! Every tool he brings into a basement requires 3 square feet of space!!!

    Awesome install Ron!

    IT really is amasing Ron

That you do this every day and everytime do a perfect job. You will go down as a legond. Yup Ol man Ron could in day what two men took two men three days to do".

Maybe a kids book along th elines of Mike Muliigan, allthough I hope you don't spend that last days in the basement :)

Funny how the customer will be upset about the dented jacket and then never look at the boiler again for thirty years :)

  • We had a doozie today

Small basement , boiler in a closet , tight turns on the stairs . We were trippin' over everything , including ourselves . Some days the job aint so bad , other days ...... I hope I hit Lotto . Thanks alot Mark .
  • Clammy

We're still going strong . 3 or 4 boilers a week for me and whoever is unlucky to be my partner . It's just way too hot to be doing 3 or 4 a week . After today's job - hot , humid , small basement - I'm officially wiped out .

I like to post the best looking job over a few weeks of work . But I gotta share today's job . From yesterday's piece of cake 2 step cellar entrance ...... to a house on a large hill , though the house , down a staircase that turns right , into a small humid basement , into a freakin' closet . 3 zones of heat and we added an 80 gal. indirect . For what reason I have no clue , but it was a real tight fit up top .

Thanks alot Clammy , your comments brighten my day .

    ok

I do have to ask Ron, do you actually use a level or just shoot most of it by eye? I know they say someone get's better with time but dam man you guys are good.....
  • We do like the Bundy's

We cheat our hineys off . We use mini levels . We have a few pipes flying like the crows on this one though . And that top copper pipe that dips down ..... that's Kenny's deal . He has an excuse - the 2 hash line in his level are gone so he eyeballs the air bubble . Thanks lchmb .

    As the joke goes ..

    Maybe the bubbles worn ??

Thats the thing Ron, you have a mechanics eye. Its not just the level pipes and good soldering its the layout. Everything is where it should be.

    Nice work
