Rich:

I had a Vitocell 300 (with SS tank and coil) installed a year ago and no one ever mentioned a double wall requirment.

Does the double tube requirment only apply to steel tubing that could corrode?

Makes a combi core line of water heaters. Both inderect and standerd tank type water heater with a coil. I have used the inderects and been happy with them. The supplier stoped stocking them. They said they had a lot of problems with heat exchanger failure. that was five years ago. I would love to use one for a job I looked at today. anyone using these?

    The new Combi 2

is what you want to use. It now has an 1-1/2" steel coil instead of that al/pex coil of years ago.

Same for their new indirect tank. It also uses that large diameter enamaled steel HX coil.

Is this considered a double wall heat exchanger? Wisconsin is funny about this!
