New Baxi boiler

If you cant lower the water temps I'd go with the Luna 310. The HT is a nice boiler but better utilized at condensing temps. The 310 is 86% eff. and can utilize ODR as well as down firing the output with the R-max feature. Nice boiler for the price.

New Baxi boiler
Hi guys, I'm going to have a new boiler installed and my heating guy recommends the Baxi Luna HT 330 for heat and hot water for my house. I have a 1400 sq. ft. 2 story house with 3/4 inch baseboard with 3 zones. The heat loss calc calls for 41000 btu for an indoor temp of 70 and outdoor at 0 and water temp of 180 degrees. My house only has one bathroom, a dishwasher, and a front load washing machine. Its also just me and my wife. I want to know if this sounds like a good boiler for my situation and if the boiler can supply enough hot water by itself or if I should have a tank added on. Also, do you think I should have an outdoor reset installed? Thanks for all the help.0 -
luna
for two people the instantaneous hot water on the combi will be fine, depending of course on your incoming water temperature in the winter(where are you located?)
Is this an existing house? it would be good if you could add more radiation to lower your design temp to a more desirable condensing range, if this isn't possible I would be leaning towards the Luna 310 Fi this is the non condensing version of the HT 330. and I would definitely get the outdoor reset option, for this boiler I believe its around $50 or so, it would do a great deal to keep the boiler in the most efficient temperature range possible.0 -
Keep the condenser. You only need the 180 on design days. which are what 10 days out of the year.0 -
New Baxi boiler
Hey guys thanks for the answers. As far as the hot water goes, if in the future I wanted to add a second bath to the house is this boiler able to add a storage tank and I do live in Massachusetts so the incoming water to the house will be on the cold side in the winter. And if I wanted to add the outdoor reset to the boiler is this something I could do myself or does it require the tech to reprogram the boiler. Thanks again for the help.0
