Hole in
9 foot in diameter black pipe that has been carrying 600 cubic feet of water per second since 1909. Hydroelectric plant on Colorado river in Glenwood canyon near Glenwood Springs. Darn old black pipe only lasted 99 years!0 -

Penstock blowout
Same thing happened when I was a kid in Upstate New York. The Union Falls dam penstock split, and the resulting water jet neatly peeled the bark of trees and sheared off branches for 100 yards or more on either side. Tossed car-sized boulders around like marbles. Water under pressure is a POWERFUL force!0
