I found these old pictures on NY state's public digital library. The first one is scary as I couldn't imagine working there for any length of time. Certainly those guy's came down with all sorts of Sarcoidosis and lung damage. When I was a kid I'd jump in the coal bin to load a bucket but this is insane! The second picture is quite interesting as they had such an efficient way of getting the most out of the fuel using the waste heat boilers in between each pair of forge furnaces.

"Battery of ten forge heating furnaces using pulverized coal as fuel. These furnaces are arranged in pairs, between each [two] of which is a waste heat boiler. This waste heat boiler is also equipped with an auxiliary pulverized coal burner, which is used as supplementary fuel to the waste heat gases. This picture shows a close up view of the forge heating furnaces. The auxiliary coal fired burner on the waste heat boiler is shown in the bottom left hand corner."

It's funny you noted this picture. I roared when I saw it! It reminded me of people I used to work with. I called my friend over and he identified them the same as I thought... The three musketeers it ain't. More like the Peppy Boyz, Manny, Moe and Jack.

Funny! That rad looks like a hospital radiator from A@R co. with the widely spaced sections and tall legs . . .
