Pex Fitting Question

Has anyone seen failures on 1807 crimp style fittings? I have seen a few in my area and I was wondering if I was alone?

have not had any failures, but i have only been using pex products for about a year.

There was this thread kicking around about a week ago regarding recalls.

Thing to remember

Most Pex systems have a 30 yr + warranty
Copper has none!
Most failures are caused by installation errors and product mismatch and substitutions.
Can't tell you how many "failures" were failure of the contractor to crimp the rings or clamps.

is still used everywhere BUT the USA...Still plenty of systems out there w/no problems....most of those issues were the aluminum crimp rings on acetyl fittings...kpc

pex fittings

its only anout the crimp 1807 brass fittings not the press (bronze fittings.

warranty on copper

it is 50 years on the copper but there is none on the connection (sweat joint) but there is on the pex connection.

now if you were using Viega ProPress copper fittings then you would get a 50 Year on fitting and the connection
