I assume these are high temperature systems. If they are, I would recommend a <a href="http://www.tekmarcontrols.com/literature/acrobat/d260.pdf"target="_blank">Tekmar 260</a>.

Suggestions
I've got a job I'm looking at. The customer has 30 residential units. Each unit has 4 apartments in it. Each unit has a Burnham V7 boiler and an indirect. The current control is brutally simple.
What do you suggest for a simple outdoor reset. Something that won't let the boiler temp drop too much so there is enough heat for the indirect, but won't keep the boiler at 200 year round.
The customer, of course, wants to spend a little as possible.0 -
Thanks Andrew. I really like the 260. A very versatile control. I know when I factor in mark up and labor the price will be up there a bit, especially times 30 units. I was hoping for a less expensive alternative.
Anyone?0 -
Paul,
Take a look at the Taco PC-700.
It's basically the same control strategy...but smaller. (I'm not so sure on the cost...but smaller usually means "less expensive" (not necessarily cheaper!) Chris0 -
I'll check it out, thanks Chris0 -
pc 700
paul is right the pc 700 is low money and will plug right into a taco switching relay. I think it is made by tekar it mimics the 256, just painted that lovely taco green. We spec it with any boiler replacement where money is tight. I dont like selling a boiler with out a reset controler0 -

Indoor reset
Why not use indoor reset from thermostat analysis.

The PC700-2 (see Attached literature) is a reset control that interfaces with Taco controls. The SR504 is a switching relay for circulators with 4 zone capacity, suitable for the 4 unit apartment houses. PC700-2 simply plugs into the control board facilitating the wiring using an interface connection port. The control has a priority zone for prioritizing an indirect water heater with reset override, so the boiler fires to high limit with a demand from the indirect water heater. Can we make it any easier?Joe Mattiello
