I'll make point of it, but I'll be pretty thirsty when I get off my bike. I'm thinking the tavern might be in the basement and I can kill two birds with one stone.

Tour de France
A friend of mine and I have rented a self-drive barge in Burgundy for the first week in September.

The next 11 days will be on our road bikes, 35-50 miles a day, again in Burgundy to enjoy the countryside and stay in small villages during the grape harvest.
Of course, I will be interested in how the French heat their buildings and even though I don't speak any French, I will find a way to get into their boiler rooms and report back.
After that, I will visit my cousin in Brussels like I did last year when I discovered that Belgian beer really does taste much better than anything I've ever had before.
All the best,

Take plenty of pictures and drink plenty of beer. Its the only way to really tell the difference.

Starting in Burgundy are you?
I wonder if that red liquid in your water bottle is Gatorade?
Have a great time. My friends wife does something similar, only she goes town to town on horseback.
