baxi luna

installed two Baxi Luna HT's so far and so far so good. used the Modulo integral indirect on the last one witch will give you pretty much unlimited hot water with a decent volume. also gives the boiler a real "appliance" look like a refrigerator or something, perhaps we can start moving them out of the mechanical rooms now ;)

oh, and as far as headaches go, none yet: installation was straightforward, all union connections. start up takes a bit more than a Viessmann Vitodens (unless you like to really get into the Vitodens programming) the Luna MUST be set up with a combustion analyzer, where we are is high altitude which requires us to turn the maximum fan speed down a touch where a Vitodens would do this automatically.

the Luna IS available in larger sizes to 220,000 BTU I believe.

Only wish they made them bigger

I really like the baxi Luna. They are small on the domestic hot water side so they are best for single bath aplications. Also the flue pipe can be a little expensive and you cant go very far with it. That said they look great. They come with hot water priority built in. they are so quite its really hard to tell when they are running. Like I said if they made them bigger I would have one in my house.

the laars mascot is a baxi luna ...

Laars gives great support!!! – you will appreciate it if you ever have a problem

But if you want bigger - the new knight wall hung boiler goes up to a 210kbtu, and with a flat-plate heat exchanger can give you even more hot water than the Luna, and if you add a 40gal hot water heater, to the show, with the lower element disconnected and it's aquastat driving the pump through the plat-plate HX, you will get lots of efficiency, and hot water, as endless as a Rinnai tankless (yet a lot more efficient) and dual heat sources, as the upper heating element can still kick in if the tank temp really drops, and yet be there as backup heat source 95% of the time!!!

Yes, this would be a lot more expensive solution, but then, you get redundancy, and a lot more capacity , and you did ask for larger!!!
