    My oldest boy...

...has been teaching himself guitar. Picked him up this morning after three weeks at his Mom's and the first thing he does is plug in his amp and play me the new song he's learning --- Johnny B. Goode! He plays it pretty well, too. It makes a Dad proud! Next up is Jessica by the Allman's!

    Cool

Can't go wrong with Chuck Berry's music. He had his problems, but the music wasn't one of them.

Is it time for a new Gibson? ;-)

The last time I saw Buddy Guy

I went home and ate a box of shredded wheat .. with out milk and then a pint of ice cream and that was just from standing in the front row.

That man plays the blues ..

    Da Blues!!

I can't believe in all these years I've never seen Buddy play. I'll have my chance next weekend at the Crossroads Guitar Festival. Clapton, Winwood, BB King, Buddy, Jeff Beck, Willie Nelson, Allison Krause, Robert Cray, Sonny Landreth, Jimmie Vaughn.....whoooeee I'm gonna enjoy that show. I wish it was two days with all that talent.

Normally I skip high priced concerts these days for general principle but I gladly shelled out over $100 for this one...besides it all goes to charity.

    Crossroads Festival

Ironically I was checking out a DVD of the 2004 Crossroads concert only a week before they anounced the '07 version was coming to Chicago. Of the four people in my contigent who were online when they went on sale I was the only one to score tickets. Their saying Clapton and Winwood are going to perform some Blind Faith material for the first time since they broke up.
