Big Ugly Western Mass Jerry Bash report

We had Wallies and local friends and family here. Everyone mingled and chatted and ate and DRANK and ate and had a great time. They aged from 4 or 5 to 93(almost 94).
Thanks to every one for the foods they brought and to all the help they gave, from husking corn to cleanup afterwards. I had a surpise visit from my son in Iowa and his daughter Kendra age 6. And we collected $385.00 for The Hospice of Franklin County. And the weather was perfect. Couldn't ask for more. Thanks again for being such friends. Ruthe

    Thank you, Ruthe!!

Always great to see you again. Meeting your mom and family was a treat. You are blessed.

The spontaneous assembly of excellent people is no accident- meeting familiar faces and lots of new ones (and really young ones!) makes for indelible memories.

I've got those pics of you and Alan 'the lady killer' Mercurio. How much can you pay me NOT to publish them? Just kidding. I had a great time, albeit abbreviated. And tell your daughter I can see where she got her VERY good looks from. I hope to visit Shelburne Falls again -- very nice place!

    come again next year

Everyone wants to repeat it again next summer. I sure am game to do it. I loved every minute of it. Next time you need to be able to spend more time in the area. It really is a great area even if some of our motels are a little rustic. Ruthe

Thanks for putting them on. As everyone can see, we ate, drank and talked from noonish to just before dark. Great time I had and I think everyone else did too.

    Ruthe,

    The pleasure was all ours.

Your hospitality was incredible. I got a chance to fly using Kendra's cape, meet some pretty fantastic people, and loved the porter in half gallon jugs.

And yes I was listening. A formal invite for a trip to northern VT is in the making...

    Pictures to follow.

the cape probably should have been a tad bigger to fly better. Kendra and her dad got safely home to Iowa yesterday about 11:30 A.M. plan on another one next year. Hopefully Jaye can come then. Have had quite a bit of nasty weather around the area since Sat night. thank you for coming. And for the future invite. ...Ruthe

    Pictures tell a lot...

And although the cape was a tad small, check out the "floods" (short pants - socks over exposed) on me!

Too bad my fashion coordinator (Jaye)wasn't there to advise me.

Not to mention the forward ballast. Be careful, you may need a stick and a wheel to hold that up!

Look, up in the sky! It's a bird. It's a plane....

    ...nah, just Ken:-)

    Massive apologies, Ruthe...

Ruthe -- I'm so sorry we didn't make it. We've been spending the last couple of weeks cleaning out my Mom's house and the wife and I simply forgot! (actually, I can't pin this one on the wife -- it was all me!) Our loss, 'cause it looks like THE bash of the summer.

    Another update

John B no apologies necessary. Just plan on coming next year since everyone wants a repeat. And a great thanks to the generosity of all of you. The Hospice donation basket went up to $535.00 today. Love you all. Ruthe
