Installing Hi Eff Hot water boiler

Already have forced hot air in my daylight basement home.
Because the furnace would be running almost constantly, we rarely use our lower rooms in the fall/winter because of the low temps.
I am thinking of installing a gasfired hotwater system for the lower level. A must is that it be a horizontal flue. The volume of the spaces to be heated would be a)3355 cu ft. b) 792 cu ft. c) 1740 cu ft. d) 1080 cu ft. and e) 480 cu ft.
What I need to know is (1)the number of rads/room and (2) the size of the boiler required.

Some years ago I installed a Lennox Pulse Hotwater system in a 14 room 3 story house so the installation and fitting (soldering, zoning etc.) is not a problem. That system worked great but the Pulse does make a staccato noise which I do not like for a smaller house.

    Heat Loss

Go under "Resources" then select "Heat Loss Calcs" at the top of this page. It's the only way to know what your heat loss is. Once you know that, you can size everything.
