CPVC Plastic for Basboard heat
IS it acceptable to use CPVC Plastic pipe for Basebaord hot water heat applications????0 -
Nope
CPVC does not provide an oxygen barrier. The connections to the copper baseboard tubes are almost certain to leak at some point. Stresses from thermal expansion could also cause problems with CPVC.
Barrier pex is also available in straight lengths. Brass fittings with the copper crimp rings are extremely reliable and simple. Be sure to isolate the tube from contact with anything other than tube hangers and isolators.
