    The past and the future

Everybody here knows how "life gets in the way". Well, I finally took some time and got my Grampa's old garden tractor running this past Sunday. It hadn't run in 7-8 years.

What a sweet sound that old Kohler single lung 14 hp makes :) It was dark and the garage was too full to ride that night, so I waited until Friday. Kind of fitting, since it was the old guy's birthday yesterday.

My co-pilot in the pics is my 5 year old grandson, Owen. He's a character. Got a buzz cut a while ago to look like "Uncle Jake", my son the Marine. His hair grows sooo fast. He starts school in 3 weeks at "Uncle Jake's School", it blew his little sponge mind when I told him it was "Papa's" school too, and my parents' school before that :)

Thanks for letting me share a precious moment :)

thanks for sharing. That is what life is really all about. Those are the kind of moments that won't be forgotten. Your grandson looks like he might keep you busy :-) Something from the past and the future.

    Cool!

I'm a fan of old garden tractors, have restored several, going to do over a International Cub Cadet 1450 w/ Kohler 14 horse this winter. Haven't seen an Economy tractor for a long time.

    Cub

My brother is the International nut :)

He just bought Cub S/N # 531. They started at 500 or 501.

My Economy is a sentimental thing, any other would be just another tractor :)

Great pics and looks like a great time too. You're right about life and time getting away from you. Enjoy it all now.

And please tell your son The Marine thanks for everything.
