Convector's

The situation is this, My house was built in the mid 60’s and has a 125,000 BTU Oil Fired Heating system with a separate oil fired Hot Water Heater . Originally this was a one pipe ( monoflow) system with two zone , one for the upstairs (8 convectors) and the other for the down stairs (5 convectors). Many years and modifications later I now have the upstairs split in two three zones ( I split the existing loop in to two zones with zone valves ,removed two convectors from the middle of the loop and added a third zone in its place ) , the down stairs has been completely replaced with high output baseboard heating on one zone. Now that you have the WHOLE story…….. I plan on replacing the heating system and hot water heater with a boiler new system and an indirect hot water heater. I will need to size this system and would like a quick way to factor in the convectors and the baseboard in the demand of the system. I heard that for the 2500sq ft of area I have to heat the 125,000 BTU might be too much, and I would like the system to be as efficient as possible. I would also need to factor in the indirect hot water heater for 3 adults and two children (lots of recovery time available due to very different schedules). The house is located on LONG ISLAND
