Has Anyone Seen?

Tesla Motors Electric Car

I love the name and it looks fabulous, but at about $100,000 I certainly won't be buying one...

Some Chinese firm is supposed to start manufacturing 100% electrics in the next couple of years for about the cost of a hybrid. It faces "regulatory hurdles" for sale in the U.S. but the Chinese certainly have enough of our money to buy whatever they want... Who in China cares if the passenger compartment crumples like a beer can in a moderate crash?

    A couple of weeks ago,

I saw the movie, "Who Killed the Electric Car?" It was a documentary about the car GM designed and built. It was headed towards being a major success with 150 cars leased out and on the road, but GM stopped production, would not renew the leases on the cars out there, and destroyed them when they got them back. The movie suggests the reason for GM's backpedaling was Because it would have cut into their replacement parts and maintenance market, because it was so trouble free. They also impuned it was because of the large car companies ties to the gasoline companies. ( would you like some wine with your conspiracy theory?) I feel we sure could use some leadership in this energy conundrum. I am looking forward to the upcoming election.
