Be sure that it has a diaphragm. If you do not have a diaphragmed expansion tank your micro-bubble eliminator over time will steal all of the air out of it.
I would hate to see you fix the air problem only to start an expansion issue.

SPRIO VENT
Anyone see an issue with adding a sprio vent jr. to a 10 year old weil mclain hot water boiler that already has built in air seperation? looking to straighten out some air issues and pump away on this job..thanks guys0 -
Air Venting
Unless you want the mark up.Pumping away and a air scoop is all that is needed.0 -
Worth it
I've tried some knock offs and ended up replacing them with a Spiro after all. Do it once.... it's cheaper.0 -
The built-in separator
on these boilers is pretty basic. If it's not doing the job on that system, the Spirovent is the way to go.
But Pumping Away is essential, no matter which separator you use.

Problem solvers
adding a good quality micro bubble resorber is a great way to "fix" a problematic air or noise issue.
Sometimes it is impossible to see all the installed piping, and possible mistakes. If the current air elimination method is not adequate, then add a well positioned Spiro.
This is exactly what they were designed for The designer knew of the limitations of "wide spots" or ramp styled air elimination devices.
Systems we install today, with sometimes tens of thousands of feet of tube can present different challanges. Primary secondary piping can also be an air elimination chalange.

SPRIO VENT
Thanks for the imput guys, I have used the Spirovent jr before and like how it looked and preformned and also like that you don't need the 18 inches you would need w/an air scoop, this boiler room is tight....0 -
