tepid zone off a Munchkin boiler

In a new greenhouse which will be heated by a Munchkin thru radiators (by others), I've been asked to run a second zone to a small SuperStor tank set to warm water to 70-80ºF for irrigation purposes. The gardners say winter tap water is too cold for their tropical plants. Anyone foresee any problems with this idea?

    Not a problem

as long as the aquastat controlling it will go that low?

The Vision package for the Munchkin allows for DHW via a thermistor, in lieu of a tank aquastat. 95- 160F if I'm not mistaken.

Another option would be a mix valve on the tank DHW outlet. This would allow you to keep the tank temp higher (above legionella temperatures :) and mix down to the required temperature. more DHW output also with a higher tank temperature.

Hot Rods got a good point.

especially since they will be spraying (atomizing) that legionella water..

Right after I started this thread I saw an add for Leonard Temperature Controls with the heading "More Tepid Choices..."
I think they've got just what I'm looking for.
Do you think I could go directly off the boiler or would a tank be necessary?

    stick w/ the superstor...

and the mixing valve. It will be easier and will last longer. Running fresh water through the boiler all the time might lead to scale build up in the boiler...kpc

Depending on the gpm flow required

you might get a flash HX or even a flat plat exchanger. Some of the mod cons offer flat plate or small tanks as an option. Laars Mascot, MZ and a few others.

I've used that small Triangle Tube Smart heat exchanger to do instantanous HW production, off a small Prestige mod con.
Everhot is another brand of small DHW generators.

At those low temperatures you should be able to supply 3 gpm easily, even with a mere 100K input, depending on incoming water temperatures, of course. Really no need for a storage tank if you generate the DHW as needed.
