Were a H.O. was asking about boilers. He made the comment that he did'nt like Burnham or Buderus because they had stainless steel burner tubes. Thats a PLUS in my book.

Any idea why that comment was made ??

Am I missing something ( besides a few years )

Scott

He was comparing them to Titanium burners

used on the Dunkirk residential boilers. Supposedly they are better.

    Check that last comment....

Scott...We HAVE seen a few problems with stainless tubes.

Fortunately in all instances...it wasn't the fault of the burner tubes themselves. It was usually caused by an overheating problem. Most common was a plugged boiler, followed by an "overfire situation", being unknown.... due to lack of training, and not knowing how to clock a meter.

This is what separates the technician from the guesser.....and RARELY do the tubes themselves have ANYTHING to do with fouled fires, unless they are forced to. (I've noticed that Utica changed their tubes for the MGB series to computer cuts...much like the European manufacturers, due to "hard lights" in L.P. instances. Just a heads up guys!) Chris
