Grunfoss cast body circulator in open loop

I have a subcontractor that wants to use a Grunfoss cast body circulator pump in an open loop heat exchange circuit. Grunfoss says that cast is incompatible in open loop and that either the brass or stainless should be used. If the subcontractor goes ahead with the cast, what can I expect as a result?

Maybe you should......

........hire a new contractor? I wonder what else he thinks is OK. Cast Iron + water = Deterioration. Always has, always will.

Can I have a glass of water? I feel my iron is low ;-)

Good question,

I always kinda wondered that myself,,besides most well-water jet pumps are CI. Then,, if it is bronze or SS the corrosion factor here would be nil.
