That really is a pretty cool radiator. Not worth the $ he is asking. Here is a photo of one a woman has in Colo. I offered her $300 bucks and was willing to drive 2 hours to get it. Still have not heard back from her. Guess I will sit back and wait.

starting bid of 1K??
And its pick up only. He's crazy unless it cam delivered AND installed.
let him smash it up and take it to the scrap yard. At the minimum bid he is setting we are not trying to save it we are trying to put this guys daughter through college.

Yeah...
A lot of folks on ebay seem to have an unrealistic sense of how much they can get for a plain jane rad. From the ad, I don't get the impression that this guy knows what he's got, but I wouldn't be too surprised if he can get his asking price(my limited understanding is that this style is pretty rare). If not, I hope the guy relists it for significantly less rather than scrapping it.

If it doesn't sell, someone can make him an offer. If anyone really wants it, might not be a bad idea.0 -
but Wheels!
It's listed as being 9' deep!!!

should have offered 1K
Seems all us heating guys are out of the loop when it comes to vintage antiques!!0 -
prportionally
If I look at the picture that makes the radiator almost 40ft long.... PHEW. Now I know why it is so expensive.0 -
Interesting. Isn't that an aftermarket conversion?0 -
Saved--even if I have to take off three days and drive 1,600+ miles to rural PA.
Will probably replace the one in the photo.
Top rail of wainscotting is 38"--same as rad. Have to re-pipe in 3/4" (1 1/4" now).
