vapor boiler replacement

for replacement boilers (new boiler will be burnham megasteam) do we reuse veco system without draft regulator? i have the lost art of steam and the companion but can't find the answer.

I'd say keep the regulator in place, it belongs with the home, plus the sight glass is still very convenient to look at. The chain linkage and float may be all tied in place. The tank also is a benefit for low content modern boilers.
Make sure water line is maintained or improved.
Make super sure your venting air hole is still wide open and (if applicable) still connected to the draught sucking flue. Technically nothing needs to be replaced.
Pressure regulation is most important - you can't go high. Instead of a pressure or vaporstat, you can also control your burner with float switches in the Veco tank.
