ONIX
looking for any tips in regards to installing onix onto the manifold. my customer danno in ft collins colo, said his crew may have to knock off early and hit the weight rm to push the pipe onto the fittings-i mentioned a lubricant, saliva or water but thought someone may have a better solution thanks0 -
BIG BILL!
I was going to tell you to contact Gregory Pex but he is probably sitting right behind you! What does Russ Rose or Kolyn suggest?
Is it possible that he may have a different manifold port size (1/2") compared to the tubing size (3/8")?
Like you stated water is suggested as a lubricant for Onix. However, Soap, oil, WD-40, or any petroleum based products are NOT recommended.
I have personally never had or heard of an issue with the barbed connections. Maybe they should start to work out together? At least that is what Greg said to me about their Pex...
Sorry I couldn't be more of a help. Take care!0 -

hello jim,
baby ava is a keeper !!! mr greg pex suggested a little spit and 30 lb dumbells everyother day-j sweaney of watts radiant suggested the same. it sounds as if it is not an issue for most installers. it is 3/4"0 -

Greg & John are correct in taking a day off to let your muscles rest. Sorry Mr. Sweaney for not including you in the Watts bunch.
Baby Ava is doing great...Just turned one! I am going to hi-jack this thread with her most recent pics. Here she is at her Birthday and a Rockies game. You can call me the Proud Papa!
How is your boy? I hope all is well at the Rock!

Anyone got an MSDS sheet for saliva???
I once asked the makers of Kitec to send me a letter regarding their suggestion to spit on the O rings of their fittings prior to assembly. Told him I'd need an MSDS sheet to go along with it...for the spit that is... Long pause... "Let me get back to you!"
Ended up getting a written recommendation to use a weak solution of dish detergent and water instead of spit...
Knowing the Gibster, he probably DOES have an MSDS sheet for saliva on his PC :-)
That Ava is one cute, and obviously happily contented child.

The id varies a bit
in that product. The machine that builds the tube is always gauging and adjusting, from what I am told. Some points along the tube are tight and others loose.
Perhaps the newest version of the barbed fitting has some taper? to allow for the inside diameter variations.
