Considering a website

I'd like to get started with a website for my water treatment business, but I really don't know where to start. I purchased a domain name, but would like to get some input on hosting/building services.

An article in Contractor magazine recommended a free Microsoft service (www.officelive.com). I know there are countless services. What I'd like to do is find a way to get started without committing to a long agreement or high feas. In other words, I want to get started in order to learn what I need. Then when I know something about it, I can commit to a longer term/higher cost service service.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

    I have not dealt with them as our host Dan has but if they were not a good company we would not be here.
