    dunkirk venting options

Looking to have new boiler installed, possibly a dunkirk q90. I would like to vent it up my chimney approx 25ft high. current flue is 6-9inches, are there any problems with fitting the correct pipe with-in. What size pipe would do the job. do both exhaust and intake have to terminate in same area or can I just pipe the exhaust pipe up the chimney. The chimney goes straight up. Also the info I have lists this boiler as a "condensing boiler"
what the main difference between it and mod-condensing boiler. Which type should i go for. I currently have all hot water cast Iron baseboards and rad, in the futre I hope to add some in-floor heat.
Thanks in advance for your help

    Depends...

The venting diameter depends on the size of the Q90, which you haven't stated. With the smaller units even 2" can be used, but unfortunately only to 20', otherwise 3". The inatke and the exhaust do need to terminate near one another for this boiler.

Check Dunkirk's site and look for the installation and operation pdf file.

I had this issue with my install. Only a single 3" could make the vertical turn up the chimney to use it as a chaseway - it just made it. That was for a 6x6" tiled flue.

    Yes...

Yes... most resets should work since it isn't a modulating control in this case.

    Why this particular model?

no I'm not installing it. Person doing the job suggestedthe type of boiler. I just want to make sure it is a proper choice. thanks

95M 200 is a sweet boiler. It comes with outdoor reset and it is a mod con. 95% efficiency. I put two in, both installs were flawless.
