  • WILO \"Smart Pump\" Training - Upper New York (ST)

    Good day Wallies.

We're rolling out the WILO Brain Box (hydronc simulator) to Albany and Syracuse June 25 and 26.

Two seperate training sessions each day, each covering topics from hydronic basics and troubleshooting all the way up to energy saving applications using variable speed circs.

The Brain Box enables me to demonstrate the operation of thermal expansion tanks, point of zero pressure change and many other items (a great "hands on" training device).

Attached are the announcements - hope to see you there!
  • And trust me on this....

You WILL come away an educated person...

The Brain Box will allow your minds eye, and your actual eye to meet each other in a hydronic world, and clarify what the other THOUGHT was going on inside of your pipes.

    Strongly recommended!

I've already begun spec'ing the Stratos on all my commercial jobs, you know, the ones where we are seeing a 60% reduction in energy consumption from getting rid of the cast iron atmospheric fire breathing dragons, slaying them with Knights :-)

That is a sharp visual *~/:)

any chance you see Fairbanks Alaska on your schedule in the future?

This is a Wilo that a young guy spun in on his solar...
  • Question for Steve

I live in eastern New York State, when are you going to put someone in this area to to really get out and demonstrate and show contractors how these work. Is there anybody in NY to keep this ball rolling?

If enough contractors ask for these on the shelves of our suppliers, they will have to comply. You really need to flood the market not just offer a day seminar that some of us cannot attend.

If it's good enough for ME, it's good enough for us. I am ready, willing and unable to understand!!!

  • Stratos Release Date (ST)

    Hi Tim.

Stock of most North American Stratos models will be in place towards the end of June (complete line by the end of July latest).
  • Alaska WILO Brain Box Training (ST)

Weezbo, I love Alaska - beautiful state! Cold too (great for hydronics...).

I'm in the process of setting up High Efficiency seminars all over North America and Alaska is definately on the list.

We'll make sure it's posted - thanks for the interest.
  • Hydronic Head Charlie - Local Representation

    That's a great point Charlie.

Classroom vs real life is a challange for all us instructors. It needs to be real world, made as understandable as possible while having good educational value. And one day seminars are OK but what happens after?

One of my responsibilities is to "train the trainer". That is our Wilo sales guys, local reps and local distributors. Hopefully, if I do my job properly there will be lots of support once these smart pumps take off.

Thank you for your wise feedback.

this is an interesting time of the year...

i personally would like to thank you as rapidly as possible.*~/:) Try as i might getting ten of the Stratos a few years ago was like pulling hens teeth.

Mark allowed us a glimpse of your training station earlier this year somewhat around the time that - The Bean - dialed in a fairly large class or two on the Wilo... On the East coast and Canada you will likely have difficulty at first keeping up with the demand. so,*~/:)....when you come up...feel free to bring a few with . We will find a dollar for your favorite fishing trip or whatever:) You wont even have to drag them back to the lower 48...look at the bright side of it...you show them here, last..we buy them ..you don't have to drag them back:) should work out well *~/:)

    Who stocks Wilo pumps?

Is there a stocking distributors in the northern part of eastern New York? Glens Falls area? Albany? Can't find a distributor listing on the website. Please advise.
    Thanks
  • WILO Distributor Listing on Web Site (ST)

Hello Frank. Regarding your question about Wilo distributors on our web site - I must appoligise for the current condition of our site.

We are going to be firing up a completely new web site in the next couplle of weeks - we will have easy links to local reps and possibly (repeat possibly) have links to local distribution. As the new site is right around the corner updates on the old site have been neglected.

Again - sorry for the condition of our current site. Please stay tuned...

    Hey Wilo

How does this new flash in the pan stack up against the world class Grundfos UPS15-58/FC? Seriously, how much of a difference can this pump make to a homeowner? Not just to have a techie be the first to install one. My suppliers haven't even heard of it.

Wilo training is unbeleivable. That was the first training i ever left feeling confident with a product. They are top notch and the stratos is an amazing circulator. I think it is going to be commercially available in July?? Residential next year due to UL listings. They are having a problem converting voltage. Imagine a circulator that runs off of delta t and delta p. It has a magnetic motor inside and i am still not sure about the concept. If you took Siggys class last year he touched on these circs quite a bit. The wholesale rep in Massachusetts is Sweeney Rogers in Franklin. As far as the other circs like the top s series and there three speed it doesnt get any better. We have been using the three speed for about a year now and no problems. I found the best thing to do is pair these up with the B and G isolation flanges that have the IFC in them. These circs do not come with IfC's. I have the stratos speced on a large apartment complex we are doing a new mechanical system for. I hope to install 4 of these on this project if they become available.

    Wilo in MA

I got an invite to that one and will be there with one, maybe two of my junior engineers. I cleared it through Sweeney-Rogers and am looking forward to it.
