Flush it out with vinegar. backflush also to loosen scales that form in one direction.

scale buildup in tankless coil
Hi all,
I have a tankless coil for domestic hot water as part of Burnham oil boiler that is clogged from hard water scale. I realize that the long term solution to this problem is a water softenning system. My question is what can I do to remove the scale buildup that is already present. Would an acid wash through the coil do the trick. If so what kind of acid and what strength. Or should I just look into replacing the coil with a new coil or maybe an indirect system.
Thanks for any help.

After cleaning out the coil install a Cuno Scale Stopper in the cold water make up line. Replace the cartridge once a year. You'll never have the problem again.0
