to be concerned with in addition to the glycol%.

Try the Caleffi solar catalog. Their Discal Solar Separator is listed for 50% glycol and -22 to 390F temperature.

Are you sure you need 50% glycol? Depends on the brand I know but...

    Caleffi Solar

I will second Hot Rod's recommendation. Caleffi's solar products are very well designed.

    They all leak

Which ever air vent you use....... depending on temp ratings...... valve it off of system. They all eventually will ooze and leak a little fluid. Since this is a closed loop system you cannot afford to loose any fluid. Makes changing and cleaning easy also.

Typically what we do is after charging system (act. slightly over-charge) run system with air vent iso valve open then close after a couple of days. You get all the air out and then can isolate. Cal. air vents look good for temp ratings. Only time will tell how they hold up after years of use.

I agree with shut off features

most separators have caps that tighten down for a positive seal.

I like the air purgers the Euro modules use. A very simple chamber that you burp once or twice and shut off. That should be all that is requires in a small capacity system.
