The blue switch activates the apollo valve, the red one switches the DHW recirc. pump on or off.

What is the application/function?
Curious what the application is. To cycle on HW recirc manually? To stop a leak if a pipe ruptures? Was there a stated features and benefits list?
Not a challenge -it seems neat to the gadget minded. Just trying to see the application and hence value."If you do not know the answer, say, "I do not know the answer", and you will be correct!"

for the gadget minded
This system is installed in a home which is left unoccupied for various lengths of time. The access to the mech. room is seperate from the living quarters via a large (heavy) bulkhead door.I wanted to provide an easy, convenient way for the[elderly] owners to shut off the water supply & DHW recirc. The recirc. pump is cycled on&off by a vitotronic 200 & an aquastat, the red switch provides an additional break of power to the pump.0 -
\"I see\", said the blind man....
My only concern would be Legionella should the water remain stagnant and not be heated from time to time at least on the HW side. Other than that, neat and simple."If you do not know the answer, say, "I do not know the answer", and you will be correct!"

Did that a long time ago
In some vacation properties, but not with that degree of sophistication. Graded the HW/CW water lines to a drain, so no freeze-ups occurred.0 -
Legi who?

Really? Do you think I should put [another] label on the red switch or maybe in fine print at the bottom of the stated features and benefits list;"Flicking the red switch off too often may cause deadly disease to form in your pipes"0
