small boiler

I would suggest our (Triangle Tube) Oil fired Delta unit. It is a 20 gallon steel boiler with a 20 gallon stainless indirect built inside the water jacket of the boiler (tank-in-tank). Although the firing rate does not get nearly as low as you need, the design makes for a buffer tank, and any excess heat is not lost, going directly to the DHW tank within. They generate fantastic hot water. The only real downside is the physical size, as it is a bit cumbersome.

small cottage
I have the task of installing a new boiler in a small cottage.
600 sq ft fully/well insullated. Year round ocupancy.
back when no one was looking a Bock 32E was installed with a hydro fan HE. the Bock also serves the Domestic needs
1 BDroom seldom more than 2 showers in a day and dishes for domestic.
I calculate the heat loss at no more than 26k btu
and the domestic I was going to put in a superstor 30 gallon to satisfy those needs.
Looking for a small boiler I mean small. Oil on the job now. Tank and chimney in good condition. (10yrs old)
I and the homeowner would like to keep oil on the job.
No Natural gas avail and elec stove
I was thinking of using bocks new 20 gallon HW heater as the heat source. I cannot find anything else in the 60k-80k area in oil. any thoughts?0 -
The Monitor...
FCX is around 80MBTU's, condensing, and oil. Gets well over 90% AFUE and is about as quiet as possible (unlike the Bock).
Your suggesting an "open system" design. Many states don't allow that and some health concerns of bathing in the same water that heats the home arise.
What direction would you prefer to go?

small oil
Pensotti has what you are looking for. The BL-3RHE is 63K and the BL3R is 82K. They are also incredibly efficient whithout a lot of high tech gagettry. Just a good design and honeywell controls. I put them in all the time and usually get 40%-60% reduction in fuel consumtion. The phone is (207) 942- 3636 ask for Steve if you have a modern chimney he has a way to tweak the AFU into the mid 90's. Web is www.pensotti-pna.com0 -

That Triangle Tube is good one as well. What are they using for controls on those? I bid a job this spring and was going to try one of those out but as of yet no decisions on that one0 -
open system
yes, my desire is to get rid of this open system design
I would end up using the 20 gallon bock as a boiler at 30psi max and zone the super stor and the Hot air HE
space is a problem but i can fit this stuff in0 -
