boiler to go to an indirect is not a great energy saver. If you are only 2 adults I would just do an electric water heater and turn off the boiler in the summer. To save the most energy I would do the whole shot and do the boiler AND indirect. kpc

Indirect Water Heater
To save energy and the cost of a new boiler, how much sense does it make to just add an indirect to my system?
I have a 50 year old Weil McLain oil fired boiler with a coil. We are only two adults in the house. The coil though inefficient has met our needs. However, with high oil prices I am considering the indirect. In the future I may change the boiler as well.0
