    Badabing!

I got beat out!...Seriously though, my best employee (for a while) was one of my cousins, who I tried to mentor for eventually running the nuts and bolts of the biz, but Budweiser got in the way.

    My son

He's got everything an employer could want in an employee with very few faults. Definitely takes after his mother. :)

I get a ton of compliments from clients. He generates lots of add on sales in service and a good number of replacement and even some new leads.

My only problem is I'm about at the point where I need to hire and it's going to be tough to find another half as good.

    He wasn't my \"employee\"

as we both wore the same uniform, worked the same hours and swung the sledge hammer but I had a helper years ago named Dave Howe. This guy was phenomenal. Drive, motivation, professionalism, BRAINS, you name it, he had it. Explain something once and it was committed to memory. Never complained about ANYTHING, not even the "stupid salesmen".

    He was a perfect employee.

Dave gave 100% at every task he was given which was in stark contrast to what the rest of the "labor pool" was known for.

Two types of people in this world. Those that rise to the level that is expected and those that slouch at the level of what is tolerated. Dave was always on top of the task at hand. He was a sponge when it came to knowledge.

He wasn't my employee, he was my "helper".

Dave Howe............too bad the company he worked for didn't care to recognize what a gem they had in their midst.
