Joe, I’m sure others can give you some specific details and suggestions but in short consider using a mixing valve for the radiant loop/s Also check out the books available on this web site you’ll find them to be very helpful, useful and worth every penny.

temp for BB hot water heat

I'm installing BBHW (slant-fin 30).I will have to connect low temp radiate floor heat to system.Could I have temp set at 150 degrees, yes I know I would have to have more feet of slant-fin.
Wife won't let me only run heat half along wall so I have to run blanks(without heat fins)the rest of way on the wall I put heat on.I was wondering if I use 150 instead of 180 the return should be around 130 or so.This temp would then be low enough to pipe to the low temp radiate heat.I am also thinking of using a lot of PEX and some copper.Any problem with this way of thinking.

    Alan's right...

But the answer is sure you can do what you're contemplating. Better yet, if you only allow 130F water into the HWBB, you will need all of what the wall affords, and must do the math. The issues you must determine are these:

The heat load of the room(s) involved. The BTU output of the radiant side at various water temps. The BTU output of S/F HWBB at the worst case water temp you envision. And, the possibility of the balance between radiant and HWBB as it impacts your warm floors.

On a mildly cool day, the HWBB alone may turn off the 'stat, denying adequate time for the radiant side to do anything measurable?

    mixing valve good point

I will be running temp at 150,can't go lower because of wall space(S/F 30),one room S/F 80.Yes I agree I will need mixing valve. With lower temp feel more comfortable using PEX with some copper.
